Get To Know Me
My name is Lindsey Sutton. I am from Goldsboro, North Carolina. I am a recent college graduate looking to start my career in the Public Relations field. I am happy to apply the skills I have learned in college and previous work experiences to the future projects I will be responsible for creating and executing. I possess leadership skills and communication skills that allow me to work successfully in both individual and team environments. I look forward to using my knowledge to make a difference in the work place and in the community.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND EVENT LOGISTICS INTERN

JOYNER LIBRARY
January 2017 - May 2017
As a social media intern, I was responsible for publishing content to all of Joyner Library's social media platforms. I effectively developed and ran a public relations campaign for National Library Week on social media platforms. I also created and presented a social media marketing plan for Joyner Library.
As an event logistics intern, I worked closely with the Programs and Event Coordinator for Joyner Library. I assisted with the execution of several receptions for art exhibitions in Joyner Library. I also aided in the execution of several faculty and student programs that were hosted in Joyner Library.

SENIOR CAPSTONE PROJECT

UPTOWN BREWING COMPANY
January 2017 - May 2017
For my senior capstone project, I worked with a team to effectively execute a public relations campaign for a local business. I aided in planning and hosting a "Game Night" event at the brewery. The event resulted in a 20% increase in sales for the night. As a group, we also boosted the social media presence of Uptown Brewing Company by 225 followers in the five month timespan.

Throughout my three years at Cracker Barrel, I effectively developed communication and interpersonal skills. I completed the highest level of training available to servers. I learned how to lead my co-workers to run a successful and smooth shift. My time as a server helped to expand my knowledge of public relations skills through experience in a customer service setting.

2014-2017
I transferred to East Carolina University after my freshman year of college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. At ECU, I found passions in public relations and sociology. I also completed a leadership course that taught me how to become an effective leader and work with others. My time at ECU was centered around Joyner Library. In the fall 2014 semester, I joined the Student Advisory Board for Joyner Library. Through networking, I secured and completed an internship as the social media and event logistics intern during the Spring 2017 semester. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2017.
